Di Morrison

Di discovered yoga when the pressure of a corporate job as an environmental consultant was taking its toll on her mental health.  Experiencing the healing benefits of yoga, Di was inspired to become a yoga teacher to share this practice with others.

Di completed yoga teacher training with Power Living Yoga and then worked for five years with Power Living in Sydney whilst completing further trainings.  Di’s passion for Yin Yoga and mindfulness led her to study with Sarah Powers and Ty Powers, where she was inspired by the teachings on mindfulness, meditation, and the benefit of silence and stillness.

Di’s classes are an invitation to connect deeply with the self, to experience the ancient wisdom of the yoga practice, and return to our natural state of freedom.

Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
The mantra “surrender and trust” has helped me through some of the most challenging moments I've ever experienced.  I use the words “take every opportunity to breathe deeply”. I like to have this written on a piece of paper where I can read it often.

How do you fill up your love tank?
I fill my love tank with yoga, family love, being in nature - especially remote places, and chai and chocolate.

What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?

I would tell someone who was wondering whether to try yoga that it changed my life. Do it and see what happens. I didn’t enjoy it at first. Be patient, be kind to yourself, and don’t compare yourself to others.
