Emily Mills
Emily has been teaching yoga on the Sunshine Coast and around Australia for over 10 years and holds an authentic passion for holistic health and wellbeing through movement, breath, stillness, visualisation and nutrition. Initially yoga for Emily was very much a physical practise used to balance and strengthen her running and triathlon training.
However it wasn’t long before her practise deepened into a more spiritual one, becoming more a way of life as opposed to simply time on the mat. She completed her 350hr Yoga Teacher Training on the Sunshine Coast in 2011 and has enjoyed teaching varied styles in studios, as well as private and corporate groups. When she’s not teaching yoga Emily is a wife, a mum to two active children and runs a Noosa based event management company.
Her yoga brings her balance and it is her much-needed yin! Emily relates to the everyday yogi who leaves a busy life outside of the studio to invest time into their body, mind & spirit. Emily has an energetic, creative and grounding style of teaching and loves inspiring people to take their yoga practise off their mats and into their daily lives.
Getting to know the Zenko Team
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” ~ Buddha
How do you fill up your love tank?
Anything which is active & in nature such as hiking, surfing, biking, swimming. Exploring new places with the people I adore the most. And throw in some amazing fresh food in there and I’m in heaven!
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
Try it and leave any expectations of yourself, the studio & the teacher at the door. Make the practise unique to yourself and try to set an intention - whatever it is that makes the yoga resonate with you, whether it’s physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.
Once you find your flow (literally!) you & your yoga practise will continue to grow and evolve!
