Emily Vaughan
Emily has taught Yoga and Meditation full time for over a decade in a range of settings, such as schools, studios, corporate classes, private sessions, as well as workshops and retreats. Emily started teaching with Yoga Synergy in Sydney and most recently has been based in Byron Bay teaching for Creature Yoga. She has completed over 1,500 hrs of different trainings and is also a qualified Yoga therapist (600 hr). In Byron, she was also teaching Yoga (as therapy) at a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre, working with clients with addictions and mental health issues. She moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2018 to work fulltime as a Social Worker in Maroochydore and is SO excited to be part of the Zenko team.
Emily teaches a range of styles of Yoga including Hatha Vinyasa, Power, Yin, Slow Flow, and Gentle, with a focus on alignment, relaxed movement, breath awareness and incorporates mindfulness and philosophy into the practice. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned yogi, you’ll feel completely comfortable and taken care of throughout the experience. Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to? These are my favourites mantras at the moment (I cant pick one!) ... Love is all there is Trust in the magic Be curious and question everything We’re all just walking each other home (Ram Dass) How do you fill up your love tank? Being in nature, morning yoga on the beach, weekend adventures with my partner and his kids, dancing barefoot to good music, belly laughs, and a good catch up with friends over a wine. What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? Give it a go, but don’t get discouraged if you can’t touch your toes or contort yourself into weird postures. Keep at it and try as many classes with different teachers as you can. Every class you attend gets easier and easier, and Yoga will end up changing your life in more ways than one - promise. Our deepest growth comes from stepping outside of our comfort zone. |
