Tegan Mel
Tegan’s welcoming smile and open heart will light you up even before you step foot onto your mat.
With her sparkles of wisdom and intuitive nature, you will find yourself sharing her infectious joy for the practice of yoga. Tegan is passionate about creating a heart felt, welcoming class filled with inspiration and connection to yourself. As a business owner of a local Noosa crystal boutique, Tegan understands the importance of having a personal yoga practice and taking time out of the fullness of the day to nourish yourself. She has found that when she dedicates space for herself, she feels more creative and inspired. Having a regular practice has helped her find her calm when feeling overwhelm with the pressures of business. With some deep belly breaths and movement she is able to drop into her heart from an active mind. Tegan first discovered yoga in her early 20s, however it wasn’t for another 5 years, after a major surgery, that she dived right in; it was the practice of yin yoga and gentle flow that refreshed her wellbeing and realisation of her own inner strength. She never looked back, diving into everything from strong power flows to nourishing yin; surprising herself by not only her physical strength but the inner strength that comes with breath. Completing her first 200hr YTT in Bali in 2017, her passion for teaching and creating creative sequences emerged. In 2019 Tegan graduated from her second 200hr YTT with Zenko which brought her teaching to a whole new level. Tegan is also certified in teaching Yin Yoga and ZenThai Flow Yoga. She studied a Diploma in Energetic Healing & Meditation as well as being an Advanced Liquid Crystal practitioner. With her extensive background in crystals and energy healing; you are bound to walk out of the class feeling balanced and reconnected. Tegan’s classes can range from strong and powerful flows to gentle, deep and nourishing. Always welcoming to all levels, Tegan will read the energy in the room to take you on a journey full of inspiration and nourishment, while empowering you to reconnect to yourself and the present moment. |
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
"Trust the universe" and "Start before you are ready" Sometimes you just need to say yes and figure it out later; you never know where that yes is going to take you. How do you fill up your love tank? Sit somewhere beautiful in nature in silence and be fully present. Observe and breathe is all in with each of my senses. Added bonuses are adventuring to new places, sunsets, spending time with the people I love as well as my beagle pup Harry! What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? Just start. Get yourself to a class even if you are not sure; getting to the class can be the hardest part! Once you are there, remember to breathe, if you are consciously breathing in the class you are doing yoga! Let go of the expectations of how a pose should look and focus on moving with your breath and smile! It might change your life. |
