Getting to know the Zenko Team
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
The mantra I use often is Sohum. So hum briefly means ‘I am’. I chose this mantra as the name of my business. It allows me to connect to everything that surrounds me. My environment, people, elements, etc. No separation.
How do you fill up your love tank?
I used to fill my love tank with alcohol. I left that habit behind when I found yoga. I now fill my love tank in many ways. I practice daily, I spend time with my family, in nature, with friends and also push myself to experience new and exciting things.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
If someone was inquiring about trying yoga for the first time I would ask them what made them think about trying it? Often it is because a friend recommended they try. I would hone in on what may make them hesitant to try it, considering they have asked; and support them to feel safe. I would ask them what they would like to achieve from going to yoga. I would then offer them the numerous benefits in relation to their needs.
