Sophie Williams

Starting her yoga journey like so many, seeing it as just another form of physical exercise, Sophie soon noticed that there was a beautiful sense of quieting in the mind when stepping onto her mat, sparking her to dig deeper into the teachings and philosophy of Yoga. This led her to make big life changes, moving from the city and returning to her roots on the Sunshine Coast. After completely her 200hr YTT in Bali Indonesia, Sophie has immersed herself in ancient yogic teachings and continues to take workshops and deepen her understanding of the ancient practice, considering herself forever a student.
 
Sophie teaches from the heart and offers her students warm energy and friendly smile. Her classes are energetic and focus on matching the breath with movement. Sophie creates a safe practicing environment suitable for connection of a mind, body and soul experience, with no judgement. Expect a challenging yet playful & dynamic yoga practice that syncs the mind and body through movement with breath.

Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to? 
Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

How do you fill up your love tank?

I swim in the ocean. There is nothing better than the stillness found under the water’s surface. It's a perfect reminder that no matter what is happening around us, we can find peace when we still the mind and go within. Daily dips in the sea are non-negotiable for me and are the best way to fill up my love tank!

I also take time to journal all of the things in my life I am grateful for. Adopting an attitude of gratitude, along with breathe work has changed my life. I can only hope to share this with others!

What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? 
Yoga is a space of non-judgement so simply show up, allow their practice to meet them and watch the magic happen. Drop any expectation of what a yoga pose should look like and just feel into it. Take it slowly, listen to your body and know that we all begin somewhere.
