After going along to her first class as an 18 year old with her older brother, she had no idea at the time that this moment was going to open an incredible world of opportunity for exploring and developing, self-awareness, self-love and strength (emotionally and physically)! Tessa has continued to practice yoga and meditation for over 17 years and wanted to share with others yoga and the positive benefits. So in 2012 she completed the 200hr Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training, PregnancyYoga Teacher Training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, and also Yoga for Teenagers. Most recently, she has completed her qualification in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with The Centre for Trauma and Embodiment.
Tessa's teaching style is peaceful and considered, and her classes flow while being grounded and strong. She encourages students in their personal and physical exploration and growth in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive way. She deeply respects and honours each student she meets and acknowledges that the yoga journey will vary for every person. |
She has an extensive therapeutic background, where for over 13 years she has provided therapy to children, young people and adults who have experienced significant and prolonged trauma. Tessa dedicates a lot of her time to continually learning more about how our bodies and minds respond and react to experiences, and how the practice of yoga can greatly compliment and support this process.

Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
To stand with the stillness of a mountain, but to move with the fluidity of the sea.
How do you fill up your love tank?
Being immersed in nature, surfing, playing music (pretty badly but I have fun!) and connecting with loved ones near and far.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
The practice of yoga can be the most special gift you can give to yourself, in so many ways. Be gentle with yourself to truly discover the depth of what yoga can bring and there are many different styles of yoga - so take time to find what is the best fit for you.
