Tom Henry
Tom completed his 200 hour yoga teacher training with Zenko Noosa in 2019 and is passionate about sharing yoga with the local community on the Sunshine Coast. After spending many years in the fitness industry and the armed forces back in the UK, Tom is excited to introduce more men, veterans, tradespeople and at risk youths to the yoga space.
Before completing teacher training Tom was a Level 3 CrossFit trainer and a member of the CrossFit L1 Seminar Staff, where for the past 5 years he has travelled around the world introducing fitness enthusiasts and trainers to the CrossFit methodology. Tom entered the world of health and fitness in 2010 through Personal Training in London, shortly after leaving the Royal Marines Commandos. After a few years of personal training and paying attention to his own behaviours and performance, Tom realised that there was more to achieving long term fitness goals than training hard and eating chicken breast and broccoli. At that point Tom decided to take on a BSc Honours Degree in Psychology and Sport Science. During which time he found yoga due to an injury which prevented him from training and began to experiment with meditation. Tom now takes a more holistic approach to health by incorporating yoga, meditation and mindfulness into his coaching style and personal practice. Tom enjoys the supportive and peaceful nature of the yoga environment, as somewhere you can push your limits with integrity and not with your ego. Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to? This too shall pass. How do you fill up your love tank? Meditation, moving my body, spending time my girlfriend and doing something beyond myself. What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? Give it a go... with an open mind and an open heart! It's a safe and supportive environment, you can take a break whenever you want or up the ante if your feel confident, yoga is a judgement free zone! |
