Zoe Starr
Zoe first discovered Yoga over 5 years ago during a difficult and challenging time in her life. She started out practicing Bikram Yoga and outdoor Yoga for about a year alongside her gym and PT sessions. Zoe soon discovered there was so much more to Yoga than just health and fitness.
Zoe first started her journey at Zenko Yoga within the first six months of the Buddina studio opening being introduced to the studio by a close friend who needed the healing aspects of Yoga as much as Zoe did during a difficult and dark time for her friend and her family.
Zoe began to develop a strong love and passion for the practice and became deeply inspired by the health and healing benefits Yoga brought to her life, mind, body and spirit. Zoe immersed herself even deeper than ever before. It wasn’t long until Zoe realised immersing herself into her Yoga practice consistently helped to rest and restore herself back into balance filling her love tank.
Zoe really enjoys the balance of Yin and Yang and loves to personally practice out in nature and within the Zenko Yoga studio environment with her community of Yogis.
Last year in Jan 2016 Zoe embarked on an life changing journey to deepen her knowledge of the practice of Yoga and travelled to India to immerse herself even deeper and decided to take her passion for yoga to the next level. Zoe travelled to Kerala in the South of India to complete her Level1 200Hr Yoga Teacher training learning the Primary Series of Ashtanga. India was a life changing and unforgettable experience.
Zoe is now also completing the Zenko Yoga Teacher training this year.
Getting to know the Zenko Team
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
There are so many wonderful quotes to live by and choosing just one is difficult however this one has been one that has been supporting me a lot lately and reminding me what matters most the present moment and the breath.
‘Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most’. – Buddha
How do you fill up your love tank?
Quality time spent with the people I love and care about.
Going to the beach, swimming in the ocean it cleanses me or a walk in nature earthing my feet and most importantly my yoga practice without it I don’t think I could give back to my family, friends or the community without it.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
Well if you are already reading this and looking on our website you are half way there. So I would say just give it a go! You won’t regret it. It could be just what you were looking for a word of warning it is life changing.
