What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)? 

EFT is an extraordinary therapeutic technique, combining Eastern meridian knowledge and Western psychology. It is simple, gentle and incredibly effective.
​

EFT comes from the belief that when we experience a stressful, challenging or traumatic event, it can create something likened to a ‘block’ in our energy system, which can create an imbalance or disharmony in our body. 

In EFT we allow space to tune in to a challenge you would like to address, while noticing emotions, sensations and thoughts that may be present, along with a simple self-tapping technique applied to acupressure points. 

Through the process of EFT, it works to safely reduce the intensity of what it is you’re working on, and Tessa will offer guidance of how to practice this technique outside of the therapeutic space, for long-term benefits.

What to Expect

People may consider EFT for a variety of reasons, which are all welcome. Tessa respects and acknowledges that whether you have experienced EFT or not, it can take courage in choosing to access support. In your first session, Tessa will offer space to discuss and explore what you would like to work on, to address any questions you have about EFT and to be guided through an EFT practice.
Each session will invite further personal growth and insights that will have a positive impact in other aspects of your life.

Tessa has been offering inclusive and accessible trauma sensitive therapies and yoga to clients in Australia and internationally for over 15 years. Tessa has had the honour to work with people from diverse backgrounds, and who have experienced complex trauma, through domestic and family violence, child sexual abuse, people from refugee backgrounds and young people involved in the criminal justice system.

Tessa is a qualified Social Worker, Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F), Yoga Teacher, EFT Practitioner (Level 1 & 2), Advanced Drawing Therapist, Sandtray and Symbolic Therapist. She has practiced yoga and meditation for over 18 years and continually maintains her curiosity to learn more about how our bodies and minds respond and react to experiences and situations, through expressive and body-based therapies. 

Tessa’s approach is considered, emphasising warmth and empathy to empower and nurture well-being, healing and personal growth in a collaborative way. She​ has the ability to facilitate a safe environment for clients explore the practice of EFT in a way that feels authentic for them and at their own pace.
