Jac Keleher
Jac is an international yoga teacher, originally from Tasmania and now living and teaching yoga in sunny Noosa. Jac first started practicing yoga when she was 15 years old, it was something that weaved in and out of her life for many years until, like many - through a difficult time, she came to realise how deeply healing the practice of yoga is. Growing up in the wilderness of Tasmania, her connection to nature has always felt like a very innate part of her life - which has inspired her to continue to learn and teach about living life in alignment with the cycles of nature.
Jac has a deep passion for understanding the intricacies of the human body and the mind-body continuum, for the ancient and mystical philosophy of the yogic tradition and for the deep wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (to which she is forever a devoted and obsessed student!).
Jac's classes are ever-inspired by the vastness and wonder of what it is to be alive. With a background embedded in traditional Tantra and the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she teaches with a deep understanding of energetics, breath and embodiment — incorporating story-telling and philosophy to create a felt experience of connection on all layers. She believes the practice to be a full body mudra in celebration of life - one that illuminates every cell of the being to come alive. She teaches from the heart — as an extension of her own love for the practice, to help guide you home to the deep wisdom that lies within you, within a safe container where all feel free to express, to move and to be in the totality of their humanness.
Jac runs workshops both in Noosa and interstate, facilitates retreats in Australia and worldwide, and is also a qualified Zen Thai Shiatsu therapist.
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it". - Rumi
How do you fill up your love tank?
Walking in the bush or along the beach barefoot, giggling with the people I love, surfing and moving my body!
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
Let go of any ideas of what you think yoga is, forget about the fact you can't touch your toes, if you're nervous - bring a friend. Just show up, then keep showing up. I PROMISE in one way or another, it will change you.
