I first discovered Yoga in Bali around ten years ago when I decided to take the journey of finding the deepest connection with my inner self. As I arrived where all the Yoga magic was happening at Changu, it was love at first sight.
Then a couple of weeks later, I moved to Australia. I immediately started practicing Yoga, and I discovered the deepest connection with myself through my regular yoga practice. And since then, I have never stopped being so passionate about exploring what else is there to unfold for me throughout my practice.
I have also been very interested in meditation ever since, and I practice daily, which brings balance to my life and calmness of the mind.
As a regular student of Yoga, I once went to a community class in Noosa, which was run by Esther Wallace-Hill, and she mentioned to me that she would be running a YTT held at Zenko Yoga. And the moment I heard this, I knew I was about to step up from the journey of a student towards becoming a yoga teacher.
As a passionate Yoga teacher, after finishing my 200h YTT, I decided to continue this journey and discover different yoga styles. I am on the way towards completing the 300h path. I completed Yin and Meridian & Restorative and Meditation courses to keep growing my education and passion for my teachings.
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
Take every experience as an opportunity to get closer to yourself. To grow into who you really are. And to remember who you were made to be.
How do you fill up your love tank?
By practicing Yoga every day, and by Yoga, I don't mean just physical practice, but also daily meditations, following and living by and up to my life values, connecting with nature, reading books, making pottery, writing, and staying at the beach.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
If you want to explore more about yourself, your physical body, mind and improve your mental health, definitely give it a try. And if, after you tried, it's not really what you thought it would be, don't close yourself towards it. Give it another chance, maybe exploring different styles that would resonate with you. And trust that by showing up your body and mind will fully appreciate it. And your heart will start opening up more and more, as the mind will become clearer and more at peace.
