About The Sanctuary and Mission Beach
Greet the sunrise over the sparkling ocean and by dusk, watch the sun disappear over the hills from this magical ridge-top location. Dive into the tranquil pool for a refreshing plunge or sunbathe on the timber deck. Wander underneath the canopy of majestic rainforest trees, explore the extensive walking trails and experience the timeless wonder of this ancient forest. Say hello to the resident wild cassowaries and the exotic local bird life. Relax all day, hidden deep in the forest, or emerge from the canopy to the beautiful forest lined beach so secluded that you will be enjoying it on your own.

The Yoga and Rainforest Yoga Shala
Yoga and meditation classes will be offered twice daily with Lauren and Kelly. Classes are suited to all levels and will be a mix of inspiring power flows, strong yet slower flows, restorative and yin classes as well as yoga nidra and visualisation.
Opening and closing circles, mindful walks and mindfulness workshops will also be included throughout the week, all designed to help you feel inspired, uplifted, grounded and deeply rejuvenated. Through journalling, exercises and shared wisdom, experience growth, transformation and awakening in a supportive and deeply activating space.
The purpose-built yoga room with its polished timber floors, exposed beams and high ceilings combine to provide a wonderful space for yoga, pranayama and meditation to the natural rhythm of the forest. This is the perfect opportunity to improve your body and mind in a nurturing and inspiring environment.

The Cuisine
Sanctuary Longhouse Restaurant & Bar captures the essence of the tropics with polished hardwood floors, high ceilings with fans lazily shifting the balmy air and a balcony situated perfectly to watch the sunrise at dawn or the moon appear from the sea at sunset.
Specialising in locally grown fresh food the Sanctuary cuisine caters to all taste buds and specialises in delicious and creative vegetarian cuisine. With the juice bar, fresh muffins, local coffee and bar snacks available in addition to Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, the relaxed atmosphere and home-made flavours can be enjoyed all day long to ensure you are kept nourished during your retreat.
Accommodation in the Rainforest
In keeping with the Sanctuary eco-friendly philosophy, all accommodation is designed to ensure that the vegetation and wildlife is disturbed as little as possible, allowing you to feel as though you are fully immersed within the natural elements.
Two unique and contrasting styles of accommodation are offered at Sanctuary to suit all tastes and budgets.
Rainforest Huts with Al Fresco Ensuites
Accessed by a boardwalk to protect the forest floor, the rainforest huts are designed to be like a bubble in the rainforest and can be opened on three sides by sliding timber and glass panels giving a beautiful close rainforest experience. These huts are both elegant and yet rustic at the same time. Each hut has a small verandah, simple furnishings and sleeps up to two in either double or twin bed occupancy. A simple deck extends from the hut, while privacy is created by the natural foliage of the forest. The outside ensuites are appointed with a shower, toilet and hand wash basin so that you can shower in the forest, naturally.
Deluxe Canopy Cabins
For those interested a little more in creature comforts the deluxe canopy cabins are a wonderful option.
Made of solid wooden construction with ample, screened glass windows, the canopy cabins offer protection from the elements, while still offering a close connection to the sights and sounds of the forest.
The deluxe cabins are stylishly appointed with polished wooden floors, handmade natural timber furniture and spectacular glass-walled bathrooms looking out high in the trees. With a studio-style lounge and bedroom and a private, furnished verandah, the canopy cabins offer superior accommodation in an entirely natural environment.

Activities at The Sanctuary and Mission Beach
Blessed with an abundance of nature, there is much to see and do in Mission Beach. Just offshore are many deserted islands to sail or sea-kayak to and explore, most of which are protected National Parks. One full day adventure is included as part of the retreat and additional optical actuates can easily be organised as you desire.
For the more adventurous, there is some of the best white water rafting in Australia nearby, as well the opportunity to parachute over and land on one of the most scenic coastlines in the world. The rainforests surrounding Mission Beach offer a wealth of sights and sounds to the walker with a diverse range of habitats and eco-systems to explore. On your arrival, Sanctuary’s knowledgeable staff can assist you to decide which of the many trips and operators will suit your needs.
Massage and Relaxation
A blissful one hour massage is included in your retreat stay. The Sanctuary’s experienced masseur and massage therapists provide a range of massage styles from the vigorous Deep Tissue Massage with no knot unattended, to a relaxing Swedish style massage.
