Summer Jade

Summer Jade is a heartfelt & authentic yoga teacher that is passionate about connecting her students to their own human experience through the embodied practice of yoga. Summer’s profound connection to the natural world is deeply rooted in her way of life, and this relationship is expressed through her teachings. Her embodied flows connect back to the ecology of her upbringing upon Kabi Kabi Country, through utilising organic movements and her knowledge of Wu-xing (5-element theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)). 

Summer’s work reflects her fascination and introspection of the human experience. Her classes weave in embodied lessons and teachings that she receives through her connection and weavings with life. Her trust in the ancient philosophy of yoga is expressed through her immersive and embodied practices; utilising Pranayama, Asana, and energetics to bring together a sense of union to the mind, body and spirit (yoking). 

With Summer’s deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, her sequences create a sense fluidity and creativity within the practice, allowing the alchemising of energy through intuitive movement. 

Summer’s objective is to ignite a passion for this extraordinary existence and gift of our human-ness through movement, and to awaken a remembrance of our purpose and place, belonging to this Earth. Re-kindling the lights within each of our hearts through witnessing the subtle experience of our human-ness in the magic of this practice called yoga. A practice that brings us home into a state of pure presence within the body, allowing the spirit to anchor in the heart, for the subconscious to intrinsically remember our unique essence, and to discover a deep trust in the fluid evolution and wisdom of our beings. 

In deep reverence to the lineage of teachers, to the practice, to the land and Earth in which we practice upon, to our bodies, and to the magic of this breath. 

Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to?
I often come back to the knowing of divine orchestration and that all that is meant for me will come without force and without fear. 
“What is meant for me will never miss me, and that which misses me, was never meant for me."

How do you fill up your love tank?
I fill up my love tank by returning to nature and wild, untouched spaces. I come home to myself and love through nature, sunshine, movement, dance, community, raw expression and creativity. 

What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? 
Yoga changed my life. And I don’t say that lightly… I found a stillness and quietness of the mind in the hour of class that I flowed in the presence of my body. The more I practiced yoga, the more I was able to access that stillness and be in the moment of now. 
Each time that you step foot upon the mat, or meet yourself in the principles and philosophy of yoga, you come closer to knowing yourself; and what beauty there is in discovering your heart, your mind and this vessel that houses your expansive spirit.
