Robyn Singh
Practicing yoga for over 15 years, with 4 of those years as a student with her teacher Pablo Muller. Her training has been in the“Anusara” style - a Hatha based alignment practice. With over 200 hours of immersion and trainings in the US with the founder, John Friend, sharing the yoga with others was a natural progression.
Robyn is well versed in several healing/ wellness practices. She is an ocean and nature lover, and when not on the mat, she could be on the river paddling with clients or maybe enjoying moments of solitude that deeply fuel her joy and peace.
Robyn completed the 2017 Zenko Teacher Training course and is thrilled to be sharing her joy and love of yoga here at Zenko.
Robyn has been an elite athlete/ paddler and coach in Australia and Hawaii for over 25 years and found yoga and meditation as a wonderful addition to training as well as offering it to her athletes.
Robyn has been paddling since 1990 and raced in Australia, Tahiti, New Zealand and Hawai‘i. With twelve Moloka‘i to Oahu crossings under her belt, and two back-to-back Moloka‘i Outrigger World Championship wins, during this competitive period, her Outrigger paddling was enhanced by training and racing Olympic Flatwater Kayak in Australia, also competing internationally in New Zealand and Sweden to widen her experience.
Eventually transitioning from competitor to coach, as a Physical Educator, she coached a High School Sports Excellence Program and eventually moved to the Hawaiian islands as Head Coach of Hawaii Canoe Kayak Team for 5 years. Accompanying the youth paddlers of Hawaii to National Championships on the mainland, she was also on the coaching staff at the USA Junior Development Camps held annually at the Olympic Training Centers in Chula Vista, CA and Lake Placid, NY. Robyn also coached women’s outrigger at the Surfer's Paradise Club and a season at the Outrigger Canoe Club of Hawai‘i. She currently paddles and leads a surfski squad on the noosa river, offers transformational consciousness sessions on the water and also has a Paddle and Flow Airbnb Experience here in Noosa .
Getting to know the Zenko Team
Do you have a mantra/quote that you often turn to? OM
Namah Shivaya Gurave
Satchitananda Murtaye
Nisprapancaya Santaya
Niralambaya Tejase
OM
I honour the essence of being, the luminous teacher within and without,
Who assumes the forms of Truth, Consciousness and Bliss,
Is never absent, full of peace
Ultimately free and sparkles with a divine lustre
How do you fill up your love tank?Ocean time, paddling, dancing, yoga, travelling, being in nature.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time? Sit quietly for a moment, close the eyes and take a few breaths and see you and your body practicing yoga with ease…notice the corners of your mouth turning upwards :) then take some action and check out some different classes and see what resonates with you.
