Course Overview
Open to yoga teachers and serious yoga practitioners alike, this course offers a wonderful platform to increase your experience, knowledge and understanding of the restorative yoga practice. Marked for its physical and psychological health benefits, Restorative yoga is growing increasingly popular as we continue to experience a rising amount of stress in the West. In our common state of constant “doing”, restorative yoga gives us the perfect opportunity to slow down, restore and come back to our inate state of “being”. In slowing down through the use of supportive postures using props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks, our bodies and minds are given permission to rest and observe stillness, offering the chance for deep relaxation to occur. |
During the course you will experience and learn about restorative yoga through practical sessions as well as theoretical lectures equipping you with the skills and tools to effectively design classes and workshops to share this nourishing practice with your students. You will learn about the physiology of the nervous system, the stress response and how to help students activate the parasympathetic response through your classes. As a practice in its own right, the adaptive nature of restorative postures make this style of yoga easily accessible to most people making is a great addition to add to your teaching tool belt. |
