Katie believed for many years that she wasn't flexible enough for yoga and after discovering the truth (spoiler alert: we come to yoga to BECOME flexible), developed a passion for demystifying and sharing yoga with the world. Combining her skills and experience as a Desire Map Facilitator, Katie's classes are energy-filled, fun and infused with mindfulness, all designed to help you step into your own personal version of joy. After completing her 200hr yoga teacher training qualification with Zenko Yoga, Katie fell in love with the community and in addition to teaching at the studio, also now enjoys teaching and sharing on A Live Yogi. When she's not in the yoga studio, you'll either find Katie exploring the Sunshine Coast's parks and trails, dancing or snuggling with her 2 dogs, 1 cat and husband, Ben.

How do you fill up your love tank?
Practicing yoga, getting out in nature, snuggling with my furbabies, saying no (more than I say yes), saying yes to things that scare me, and staying connected with my Core Desired Feelings.
What advice would you give someone wondering whether to try yoga for the first time?
Let your teacher know it's your first time and that you might be feeling nervous/excited, anxious. Pick a spot towards the middle of the room so you can follow along with the class regulars. And take it slowly, focusing first on connecting with your body (not what you think a pose "should" look like).
